Terms of Use & Privacy
Last Updated: April 21 2026
1. About Compass
Compass is a financial planning dashboard operated by Waymaker Pty Ltd (ABN 83 640 132 592) ("Waymaker", "we", "us", "our") for clients of Waymaker's coaching services. It helps you organise your financial information, track goals, manage cash flow, and collaborate with your coach or adviser.
By creating an account or using Compass, you agree to these Terms.
2. Compass is a tool, not financial advice
This is the most important clause. Please read carefully.
Compass is an information and record-keeping tool. It is not personal financial advice, tax advice, credit advice or legal advice.
Calculators in Compass (tax, super, mortgage, surplus, etc.) are general estimates based on publicly available rates and your inputs. They may not reflect your personal circumstances or current legislation.
Content in the Streams section is general educational material only.
Any advice you receive from Waymaker coaches, brokers or partner advisers is governed by their separate engagement agreements and disclosures (e.g. Financial Services Guide, Credit Guide) — not by these Terms.
Before acting on anything you see in Compass, consider whether it's appropriate for your personal situation and seek qualified advice where relevant.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and either living in Australia or an Australian citizen.
You need an active engagement with Waymaker to access Compass. Your access may be revoked if that engagement ends.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your account with anyone.
You must provide accurate, current information when registering and keep it up to date.
4. Your data
You own the data you put into Compass. We process it to provide the service.
Data accuracy is your responsibility. If your inputs are wrong, the outputs will be wrong.
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard providers including Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting) and Assembly (client management). Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information.
Your coach or adviser at Waymaker may be granted access to your data to support you. You can review and revoke these permissions in the Experts section of Compass.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Use Compass for anything unlawful or to input data that isn't yours
Attempt to access other clients' information
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Compass software
Upload malicious code or files
Share your account with a non-authorised person
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these rules.
6. Availability and changes
Compass is provided "as is". We aim for reliable uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may update, change or discontinue features at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms.
7. Third-party links and integrations
Compass links to third-party services (podcast, calculators, partner websites, questionnaires). We're not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of those third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
Compass is not liable for financial losses resulting from decisions you make based on information in the app.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Compass is limited to the fees (if any) you have paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Waymaker (and our directors, employees and contractors) against any loss, cost, liability or expense we reasonably incur as a result of:
your breach of these Terms;
your misuse of Compass or attempt to access data or accounts that aren't yours;
information you submit to Compass that is inaccurate, misleading or infringes someone else's rights;
any third-party claim arising from your use of Compass.
This indemnity survives termination of your account. It doesn't apply to loss caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Termination
You may stop using Compass at any time by contacting us to close your account.
We may terminate your access if you breach these Terms or your engagement with Waymaker ends.
On termination, we'll retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any legal obligations, then securely delete it.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that state.
